M1299 was built on the basis of a self-propelled artilleryinstallation M109A7. It was announced in 2019 at the AUSA 2019 exhibition. $45 million was invested in the creation of the prototype. In the spring of 2019, the first firing tests took place, in which the M1299 was able to hit targets at a range of 62 km.
