Late last year, Nvidia announced plans to build the Cambridge-1 supercomputer, a $51.7 million device.
Just 20 weeks later, the company announced its firststage of the device - journalists note that it is very fast to work on a supercomputer. In comparison, most companies took several years from concept planning to final assembly of the device.
Now a supercomputer located in one ofof the company's buildings in Cambridge, is undergoing final tests before scientists can begin projects using this device. Basically, they will concern health care.
AI was taught to generate 3D holograms in real time
Researchers monitored productionsupercomputer using a mobile robot. According to the company's vice president of architecture and design solutions Mark Hamilton, it looks like "a little thing on two wheels, while very similar to a tablet."
Previously, the robot was used to build anothersupercomputer Nvidia - Selene. However, at that time, scientists were present during the design in person, and the device was located at the headquarters of Nvidia in California. An Nvidia employee was always on site to open the right door for the device.
