Robot taxis from Cruise, which is owned by General Motors, have once again blocked traffic.
What is known
On March 22, Cruise cars reconvened atcross. The hurricane caused a tree to fall on the road, bringing down power lines. The fire department installed protective tape at the scene, which caused confusion in the operation of unmanned vehicles.
Late in the evening, robotic taxis could notdeal with the obstacle. Cars continued to move, despite the protective tape. After a while, the taxis nevertheless stopped and blocked the road.
Given the damage caused by last night's storms, some of our cars briefly entered areas with downed trees or power lines. Some were able to proceed autonomously, but where needed we immediately dispatched teams to remove the vehicles.
