Roskomnadzor started blocking Telegram resources in Russia

Are you sleeping? Looking at the night, a very interesting story emerged. The fact is that in Russia they began to restrict access

to the resources of the most popular all over the worldmessenger social network Telegram. Right now, users cannot access t.me, and the restriction was introduced at the level of Roskomnadzor (proof is issued by the Universal Service for checking access restrictions to sites and (or) site pages). Thus, all short links in the t.me/ format will stop working; such a restriction does not yet apply to Telegram.org and the application.

Base – Article 15.3 of the Law “On Information”, which talks about restricting access to information containing calls for mass unrest and participation in unauthorized actions, extremism, as well as unreliable socially significant information disseminated under the guise of reliable messages (aka & #8220;fake”). In this case, there is every reason to believe that other Telegram resources will be blocked. Let us recall that earlier in Russia access to Meta services (Facebook and Instagram), which were accused of extremism, was limited. In addition, access to Russia and Twitter is closed.

UPD:Roskomnadzor, ironically, on Telegram,indicated the following: “In connection with the information that has appeared about restricting access to the Telegram resource, we inform you that blocking of this social network is currently excluded in Russia.” t.me has been removed from the registry!
