Rumor: OPPO's first foldable smartphone will be presented next month

OPPO has been working on its first commercial foldable smartphone for some time now.

It was supposed to be released in early 2022, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

What is known

According to a Chinese insider from social mediaWeibo network, the manufacturer plans to introduce the new product next month. If the information is reliable, then OPPO will start teasing the device soon.

Let's remember that OPPO's first folding smartphone should have a book form factor. That is, the device will compete with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Huawei Mate X2 and Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold.

The main screen of the device will have an OLED panelwith a diagonal of 8 inches. The display will have 2K resolution, as well as support for a 120 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood of the gadget, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor will be installed. The new product is also credited with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a main camera with a 50 MP Sony IMX766 sensor, a 32 MP front camera and a 4500 mAh battery with support for 65 W fast charging.
