Rumor: Pixel Tablet will be powered by the 1st generation Tensor chip and will enter the market without 4G / 5G support

Google announced in the spring that it was going to introduce the first Pixel tablet next year. Now

Thanks to an insider, some details about the new product have appeared online.

What is known

An insider under the nickname @Za_Raczke “dig deeper” intoAOSP code and learned that the Pixel Tablet will most likely be powered by the company's first-generation Tensor processor. The exact same chip is now found in the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6a smartphones. It has Mali-G78 MP20 graphics and eight cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.8 GHz. The SoC is built using a 5nm process technology.

In addition, the leak reveals that the tablet is unlikely to receive a GPS module and 4G/5G support. The new product should only come with Wi-Fi. That is, we are talking about a tablet for home use.

Let us remind you that the Pixel Tablet is also creditedAndroid 12L OS, a camera like in the company’s smartphones, a USB-C port, stereo speakers and connectors for connecting accessories. The new product should be released in early 2023.
