On April 7, 1994, Russia received its own domain on the Internet - .ru.
This event was preceded
signing on December 4, 1993 of the agreement “Onprocedure for administering the RU zone" between the largest domestic Internet providers at that time. The .ru domain replaced .su (Soviet Union - Soviet Union). However, in 2002, registration of sites in the Soviet zone resumed.
On April 7, 1994, Russia received its own domain on the Internet - .ru.
