Russia actively sells counterfeit checks on iPhone: how and why?

Turbulence in the consumer electronics market is creating new “business” on for the unclean on

the hand of craftsmen. The Izvestia publication spoke about a new popular scheme that scammers use to make money – printing fake receipts for the purchase of expensive electronics, including iPhones. They sell documents in Telegram channels, and the “service” provides for the preparation of a receipt from any of the major retailers – Re:Store, M.Video - Eldorado, DNS, Svyaznoy, MTS, Beeline, Megafon and others. According to one of the administrators of such channels, there are quite a lot of people who want to take advantage of this dubious offer. Issue price – 1000 rubles, and the indicated preparation time – 5 days (order for iPhone 14).

The main question in this whole story – For whatit is necessary. The source provides several scenarios for using a counterfeit check. The first (and most obvious) – an attempt to make out of “gray” smartphone “white”, and then use the services of the official service center in Russia. Representatives of retailers unanimously insist that this initiative is doomed to failure, since every receipt in the country has a digital trace that makes it easy to detect a fake (not to mention the internal database with IMEI and all that). The only workaround is – presence of “mole” inside the store, but this is a question for individual security services.

Second option – buyers of such checksThey are trying to increase the price of their product on ad services or to give credibility to their product. The most desperate ones can try to “return” to the store with a device purchased on the gray market using a fake receipt and make money on the difference. A relatively noble scenario is also being considered, when an honest user has lost a real receipt and it becomes necessary to restore the Apple ID, but in this case, Apple’s security system is unlikely to allow such a scheme. In general, we do not recommend using such “services”. Remember that most problems can be solved legally, without violating the legislation of the Russian Federation.
