Russia became the third in the world in the number of surveillance cameras

In Russia

there are approximately 13.5 million cameras: that’s 93.2 per thousand people. China leads in terms of their number, with 200 million cameras operating in the country. The second place is occupied by the United States with 50 million cameras, or 152.8 per thousand people.

Cameras install:

• most of Russian cameras (58.7%) were installed by commercial organizations to prevent theft, ensure security,
• 32.8% of cameras were supplied at public expense (in schools, government agencies, roads, hospitals),
• 8.5% of all Russian cameras were installed by individuals.

According to experts, the share of the public sector in cloud video surveillance in the country is currently small, but will grow in the future.

The cloud video surveillance market in the world remainsone of the fastest growing IT segments. In 2019, its volume was $1.55 billion, by the end of 2020 it should grow to $1.83 billion. It is planned that by 2024 its value will reach $2.75 billion: an increase of almost twofold over five years. 

There is a clear leader in the market for individuals: Rostelecom occupies 86% of it. Invideon - 5%, MTS and MGTS - 2%, Novotelecom - 1.5%. The rest of the companies control 5.3% of the total.
