Russia may begin to punish social networks for ignoring user complaints

Experts from the "Main Radio Frequency Center" called on the authorities to provide for punishment in the Code on

administrative offenses for social media owners for ignoring user complaints.

Experts note that Russian usersforeign applications and social networks may lose access to their data. But in Russian law there is no liability provided for the owners of such resources for ignoring the complaints of users whose rights have been violated.

In addition, experts are confident that changes to the Code of Administrative Offenses will help attract users to participate in blocking illegal content.
