However, then the experiment ended ahead of time due to a failure of the equipment - a sudden stop of the rotation of the rotor of the active droplet intake.

This device was first mentioned in 2020— then plans emerged to launch a nuclear tug into orbit in 2030 for further flight tests. If the tests are successful, the researchers will move on to mass production and commercial use. It will cost 4.2 billion rubles.
In the future, this tug will be used for flights to the moon and other planets of the solar system. Research on the device on the ISS has already been named "Nuclon".
