Alexey Pavlov, director of business development for cybersecurity services at Rostelecom-Solar, speaking at
According to him, everything that was observed before -first wave. The attacks were massive, but now we need to prepare for pinpoint attacks. Pavlov noted that in 50% of cases, hackers demanded a ransom earlier, and in another 50% they did nothing, they simply deleted information, as was the case with Rosaviatsia.
The expert also painted a serious picturewhat is happening. He said that “pro-government groups of other countries” are “sitting” in many areas within Russia, in the infrastructure of many industries, and even in federal executive bodies.
And these groups were in the infrastructurepower sites for at least 5 years. But how to deal with them, no one understands. These groups are extremely difficult to detect: "even if you find them, they have unlimited budgets and they will definitely return - you just have to be ready for it."
In the near future, I'm almost sure, we'll see the second onewave of cyber attacks. Everything we've seen so far – this is the first wave. And these are mostly mass attacks. We are now starting to see targeted attacks. Attackers are in many companies, now their main goal is – do not do some kind of fast encryption.
