Russia will adopt new laws to protect against the "lawlessness" of foreign Internet companies

Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin promised that Russia will set an example with new laws so that

protect yourself from the “lawlessness” of foreign Internet companies, including Facebook.

Volodin commented on Facebook's decisionblock publications of Russian media, which the social network considered fake. The Chairman of the State Duma said that the company's decision "violates the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens, the right to disseminate and receive information."

Volodin noted that Facebook is not doing thisfor the first time. He also mentioned some of the wrongs of Instagram and Twitter. Volodin said that they were violating Russian national law. Therefore, the State Duma will propose legislative solutions "that would not allow this in relation to the Russian media."

The Chairman of the State Duma added that today in many countries "are working out their proposals to combat the lawlessness of global IT companies."
