Russia will completely get rid of Soviet missile systems in 2024

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that in 2024 the share of modern missiles in the Strategic Missile Forces

destination (Strategic Missile Forces) will be brought to 100%. This means that by that time Russia will completely get rid of Soviet complexes.

“The Strategic Missile Forces will cross the line beyond which there will be no Soviet-made missile systems left in service,” writes the department’s press service.

At the same time, the current rate of production of strategic missile systems fully meets the needs of the troops.

The Ministry of Defense also noted that the Strategic Missile Forces occupy a key place in the country's nuclear triad. Today, about two thirds of the total number of carriers of nuclear weapons are concentrated in this type of troops.

Interfax recalled that in 2019 the share of modern missile systems in the troops was 76%.
