Russia will create a system for monitoring environmental violations from satellites

As Milana Elerdova, general director of Terra Tech, said, the company advocates the creation

systems for monitoring enterprises from space.

Remote sensing can helpimplement a fair system of doing business and objective control in the country. If it is detected from space that an enterprise is dumping waste, a fine should be automatically issued, as happens with fines from cameras for violating traffic rules.

Responsibility, she added, will be universal, and not like now, when only those who were directly caught for violations are fined.

Roscosmos has already proposed this idea to the government.

Monitoring will be carried out by "Terra Tech" -it is a subsidiary of Russian Space Systems JSC: it was created to provide remote sensing services and geographic information services based on them.
