Russia will punish social networks for disseminating information about rallies among minors

Roskomnadzor not only demanded that VKontakte and TikTok block posts calling for people to go to rallies, but also

threatened them with administrative liability. Every Internet platform on which information about protests among minors will be disseminated will be punished.

Roskomnadzor said that it sent notifications to social networks about a call to draw up protocols on administrative violations.

The agency refers to the law according to whichInformation aimed “at attracting minors to participate in unauthorized mass (public) events” is prohibited. Roskomnadzor claims that participation in such actions carries risks of harm to life and health.

Office, referring to Art. 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, suggests punishing social networks with fines ranging from 800 thousand to 4 million rubles.
