Russia will punish social networks for disseminating information about rallies among minors

Roskomnadzor not only demanded that VKontakte and TikTok block posts with an appeal to go to rallies, but also

threatened them with administrative liability. Every online platform that disseminates information about protest actions among minors will be punished.

Roskomnadzor said that it had sent notifications to social networks about the summons to draw up protocols on administrative offenses.

The department refers to the law according to whichinformation aimed at “attracting minors to participate in unauthorized mass (public) events” is prohibited. Roskomnadzor claims that participation in such actions carries risks of harm to life and health.

Office, referring to Art. 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, suggests punishing social networks with fines ranging from 800 thousand to 4 million rubles.
