Russian IT companies will support the "digital tax" and benefits for Russian software

The second package of measures to support the IT industry will be the next stage of the government program, which has already

has been in effect since last summer, whenThe government accepted the first package proposed by President Vladimir Putin. It included a reduction in the profit tax rate for IT companies to 3% (previously it was 20%), as well as insurance premiums by almost 2 times - to 7.6%.

The second package will continue state support for Russian IT companies.

“It (the second package of measures to support -“High-tech”) covers almost all the support measures that were discussed. Some came with stricter wording, some still need to be worked out. In fact, this is a plan for the work of the ministry and the government in terms of IT, and all this is under the control of the government.”

The second package does not include all initiatives thatdiscussed during the preparation of the project. In total, about 400 initiatives were submitted. The experts participating in the discussion divided the measures into 12 areas: from information security and software creation to AI and education.

As a result, according to media reports, the second packageThe so-called “digital tax” has been introduced - it will be levied on foreign IT companies using the personal data of Russians. On the contrary, those companies that implement Russian-developed software will receive a tax deduction. The benefits will apply to commercial data centers, and government agencies will be required to use exclusively Russian data centers.

Development ofAI: developers are offered to give access to big data obtained using government services. In addition, medical data from Russian hospitals may be "revealed", albeit in a depersonalized form.
