Russian Post announced that it has started using Yandex's unmanned delivery robots for deliveries.
The project was implemented with the support of the Skolkovo Foundation. So far, 36 rovers have been launched. They will deliver parcels from 27 branches in Moscow. You can use the service through the Mail app on Android.
With regard to specific branches, these will beKhamovniki, metro Belorusskaya, Sokol, Airport, Tsvetnoy Boulevard, Ramenki, etc. The delivery radius will be 2 kilometers. If the user is in the coverage area, then in the application he will see the choice of a delivery robot.
When the rover is at the door of the house,the user will receive a notification. He will receive a verification code in an SMS message, which will need to be entered in the application. After that, the robot will open the lid and the parcel can be picked up.
