Russian vaccine against coronavirus called the largest scientific breakthrough since the USSR

Bloomberg called the Russian Sputnik V vaccine the largest scientific breakthrough in Russia since the times of the USSR.

Recently, the authoritative scientific journal The Lancet published the results of the third phase of a clinical trial of the drug.

Bloomberg noted that a scientific article in TheThe Lancet showed that the Russian vaccine is not inferior to its American and European counterparts and is more effective than its Chinese counterparts. Journalists also reported that after the publication of the article, many countries decided to order the vaccine, “lining up in line.” Currently, at least 19 states have already approved Sputnik V for use. Among them is Hungary.

The director of the consulting company suggested that the success of the Russian vaccine could increase Moscow's geopolitical influence in Latin America.

Recall that the effectiveness of the Sputnik V vaccine is estimated at 91.6%.
