Same as OnePlus 11: OnePlus 11R smartphones will receive updates for 5 years

OnePlus recently announced that its new flagship OnePlus 11 is the first smartphone to be

receive software updates for 5 years. As it turns out, this applies not only to flagships, but also to OnePlus 11R.

What is known

Previously, OnePlus promised updates only forOnePlus 11. But now the company’s support service, answering a user’s question on social networks, has officially confirmed that the extended support program also applies to OnePlus 11R.

We are talking about four updates to the Android operating system and the release of security patches over a period of 5 years. That is, smartphones will definitely receive Android 14, Android 15, Android 16 and Android 17.

By the way, brands such as Google, Samsung and OPPOhave long offered four years of software updates for some phones. But the OnePlus 11R is a mid-ranger (it costs around $500), so its longer software update cycle makes it a better value proposition.
