Samsung is back as the smartphone market leader with 259 million units sold in 2022

Samsung once again sold the most smartphones during the year. According to Omdia, South Korean

the manufacturer captured 21% of the market.

OPPO is the latest company in the top 10 toat the end of the reporting period, it was able to sell over 100 million models (107 million units). In comparison, year-on-year deliveries fell by more than a quarter (25.6% / 37 million units). Note that if the indicators of OPPO and realme are considered in total, then Xiaomi will go to the 4th line. Vivo closes the top 5 (98 million units / 8%).

Honor is the only brand selling smartphoneswhich in the reporting period increased compared to the base period. And almost one and a half times (47.2%). The Chinese company sold 59 million smartphones (twice as many as Huawei) and took 5% of the market.

In just 12 months, manufacturers shipped 1.207 billion smartphones. Compared to 2021, sales fell by 9.9% or 133 million units in physical terms.
