Samsung invents a new display with 22x the resolution of the iPhone 12

Specialists from the Samsung Research Institute (SAIT) together with colleagues from Stanford University

have created a new OLED display with a resolution of 10,000 pixels per inch (ppi). This is almost 22 times more than the recently released iPhone 12 (460 ppi).

A display with this pixel density will be able toprovide a picture with stunning clarity of detail. They will also be brighter and have better color reproduction than existing screens. Another advantage is ease and reduced production costs.

Experts called the new OLED panels motophotonic. They are made on a base reflective layer of metal with a nano-sized relief. This surface allows you to obtain colors due to resonance.

The new displays can be used in TVs, smartphones and virtual reality glasses.
