Samsung has never been known for long-term support for its smartphones, but it looks like that's about to change.
What is known
Yesterday, during the presentation of the flagship seriesGalaxy Note 20 and other new products from the company, a Samsung representative said from the stage that now the manufacturer will update its devices for three years. At the same time, we are talking about updates of exactly three generations of the Android OS. By comparison, there used to be two years of system updates and one year of security patches.
This concept comes into force fromGalaxy S10 smartphones. They entered the market with Android 9 and have already been updated to Android 10. Therefore, they are definitely worth waiting for the next versions of the “green robot” - Android 11 and even Android 12. But yesterday’s new products will all receive updates up to Android 13.
