Samsung has announced a new series of 870 EVO solid state drives.

included versions of 250 GB, 500 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB and 4TB with TBW (Total Bytes Written) 150, 300, 600, 1200 and 2400 respectively. The new products received a 2.5-inch size, a SATA interface, and new V-NAND (TLC) memory. It, paired with an updated controller, provides a sequential read speed of 560 MB/s and a maximum sequential write speed of 530 MB/s. Claimed random access performance is 98,000 IOPS in read mode and 88,000 IOPS in write mode.

Another interesting thing about the Samsung 870 EVO is the updated sleep mode. It is now compatible with devices that support the Window Modern Standby feature.
Price and when to wait
Samsung 870 EVO will begin selling in the coming days with a price tag starting at $50.
