Design and comfort
Most Real Wireless Headphonesdesigned in a similar way: they rest on the earlobe, and the rubber tip is inserted into the ear canal. The tip of the liner creates a seal around the channel, providing both the best sound and reliable grip. This design formula is followed by Galaxy Buds +, Jabra Elite Active 75t and AirPods Pro. Galaxy Buds + take a step forward, also with rubber “wings” for extra grip. Since each person’s ears have a slightly different shape, all three models come with rubber tips of different sizes.
Classic AirPods are different, however. They have a completely plastic case and do not have a rubber tip. Some users find them more comfortable because they don’t like the feeling that something is connected to their ear. Personally, I don't really like the original AirPods, as they tend to fall out of my ears. However, AirPods are the easiest to compare, so this is one of the reasons why some people prefer them.
In my opinion, Buds + and Active 75t havethe safest fit, but they may look like earplugs in your ears. AirPods Pro doesn't look so much like earplugs and fit perfectly into my ears. Jabra Elite Active 75t — best waterproofwireless headphones in this list. They are rated IP57 and can be safely used during training. The AirPods Pro are splash-resistant only and have an IPX4 rating. The Galaxy Buds+ have an even weaker IPX2 rating, so they're only somewhat sweat-resistant. The original AirPods are not rated for water resistance.
As expected, all four models come withcases for charging. The original AirPods have the most compact body to date. The cases for the Jabra Elite Active 75t and AirPods Pro are about the same size. The Galaxy Buds + case seems to be the largest, but it still fits in a small jeans pocket.
Sound quality
Sound testing was carried out with AirPods andAirPods pro paired with iPhone 11. Jabra Elite Active 75t and Galaxy Buds+ were paired with Samsung Galaxy S10. All comments on the quality of music come after listening to high-quality tracks that were copied to phones from a computer.
The good news is that all fourthe models sound very good, but there are differences in the way the sound is played. In my opinion, AirPods Pro has the most balanced sound, while Samsung Galaxy Buds + tend to slightly increase high and low frequencies. They all sound good, it's just a matter of what kind of sound you prefer and maybe what kind of music you listen to.
Jabra Elite Active 75t is a bit special. They can also sound very good, but out of the box they sounded pretty harsh to my ears, with heavy bass and piercing highs. A quick equalizer setting in Jabra Sound + tuned the sound to my liking. There is some kind of automatic sound adjustment function that adjusts the equalizer to your ears.
And the original AirPods, they sound good overall. The sound is balanced and clear, but I would call it a little less exciting compared to what I heard from the other three pairs. A little more bass and treble would be nice. But if you are not a critical listener, they are perfect for your needs.
Ambient sound and noise reduction
When it comes to reduction and isolationambient sound, there are practically no competitors. AirPods Pro are in their own league, being the only pair that has active noise reduction. The function does not block all sounds, but dramatically reduces the buzz of washing machines, air conditioners or cars. The Galaxy Buds + and Jabra 75t have some passive sound insulation thanks to their rubber tips, but the result is far from impressive. As for AirPods, they don’t even try to isolate any ambient noise and skip most of it, but this may be good if you would rather know more about your surroundings.
Speaking of which, AirPods Pro, Galaxy Buds+ andJabra has a feature that lets in ambient sound so you can be more aware of what's going on. On the AirPods Pro it's called Transparency Mode and it's great — It feels like you're not wearing headphones.
Ambient Sound — this is the same function as inGalaxy Buds+. It has three volume levels. The mid level is very close to how the world sounds without headphones, and the high level enhances ambient sound, which can be useful if you're listening to a lecture, for example. On the other hand, because the buds cover your ears too well, when talking with Ambient Sound on, you feel like your head is underwater. It may not be pleasant. HearThrough on the Jabra Elite Active 75t works well. It has six levels, and higher ones also enhance the sound.
Spectrum
After checking the signal strength of all fourmodels in my apartment, I found that they all maintained a reliable connection with the phone they were connected to. Each pair works great, even if the phone is in the next room. Best range with a clear line of sight I got with the original AirPods and AirPods Pro — about 12 meters. Around 11 and 10 meters of range with the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ and Jabra Elite Active 75t are still excellent and more than enough for most people's needs.
Buttons and controls
All four models allow you to controlplay music and access certain functions using the built-in buttons or touch areas. If I had to choose my favorite, it would be Jabra. The Elite Active 75t has flipping, easily accessible physical buttons on the sides. You can turn HearThrough on and off, control playback and volume, and even access Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant. The sound of the click is a little annoying, but bearable.
Samsung Galaxy Buds + has side touchpanels. They work fine, but sometimes they can’t detect the tapping, and tapping them seems like I’m hitting the eardrums. Single, double and triple taps can be used to play / pause, skip or return to the previous song. Actions can be changed from the Galaxy Wearable app. For example, you can set Ambient Sound to turn on or off by holding it on the left earphone, and holding the right ear can activate Google Assistant. You can replace one of these actions with the “Launch Spotify” action. You can also replace the shortcuts for long presses with the volume up and down controls, but in this case you will lose access to the Ambient Sound, assistant or Spotify shortcuts if they are configured.
AirPods Pro are pretty cool with their sensitivitystrength «stems». Of course, you can play, pause, skip, or revert a track, but you can also turn transparency mode on or off with a long press. Siri can also be accessed by long pressing or simply saying “Hey Siri” (if you enable these options in Settings). You can only control the volume from your phone or by asking Siri to change it for you.
AirPods are the most limited in terms ofmanagement perspective. They only respond to double taps, so if you have the left earbud set to pause/play a track and the right one — to move to the next song, returning to the previous song is not possible.
Battery life
With real wireless headphonesmanufacturers usually provide at least two estimates of battery life. One of them indicates how many hours of continuous listening is required to discharge the batteries of the headphones themselves, and the other, more accurate, takes into account the additional charge contained in the case.
It’s easy to get confused if you don’t read the shallowfont. For example, Galaxy Buds + work as long as 11 hours alone, almost enough to fly from Tokyo to Los Angeles! Meanwhile, AirPods Pro will only provide 4.5 hours of listening time (to be honest, they will be much better at blocking engine noise). Elite Active 75t and AirPods work 7.5 and 5 hours respectively.

But seriously, how many people will wearheadphones for more than a few hours at a time? Jabra provide the best combined battery life, and perhaps this is the figure that most people should consider. AirPods and AirPods Pro are in second place with more than 24-hour battery life, while Galaxy Buds + comes last with their 22-hour battery life. However, even a 22-hour battery life is excellent and quite sufficient for most people.
It is also worth noting that battery life is limited. Those in AirPods and AirPods Pro are likely to get worse faster because they require more frequent recharges.
