Another new phone, the Samsung Galaxy S10e, turned out to be no less interesting than the foldable Galaxy Fold and the flagships S10 and
Galaxy S10e review
The dimensions of this smartphone are quite compactcompared to S10 and S10+. The front part is completely occupied by an AMOLED display, the frame is very thin, and there is a hole for the camera in the upper right corner. The display is much smaller than its counterparts (5.8-inch diagonal), and there are no side curved edges. For some this is a disadvantage, for others it is an advantage. The screen is covered with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 6.
Also here you will not find underThe display has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The biometric sensor is located in a different location — on the side. This move has caused a lot of discussion, but you need to understand the manufacturer, who sought to achieve compact body sizes.
On the back of the phone you can see a dual camera setup. It looks quite familiar, in the style of Note 9. There is a 10 MP selfie camera on the front, like other models in this line. The good news is that there is a micro SD card slot for storage expansion and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The case is protected from water and dust according to the IP68 standard.
Despite its small dimensions, the smartphone turned out to bevery productive, since it has a Snapdragon 855 processor inside. The same is used in the flagship versions S10 and S10+. It is distinguished by increased productivity and energy efficiency. To maintain high power, the company added 6/8 GB of RAM here.
The advantages of the S10e do not end there. The manufacturer not only added its new user interface here, but also included support for such top-end features as reverse wireless charging. That is, you can charge another phone or headphones from the Galaxy S10e. Perhaps due to the small capacity of the battery at 3100 mAh, this function will not be so in demand, but still it is there. IPhone Xr Comparison
As mentioned above, the price of the Galaxy S10e andiPhone Xr stays at the same level. This forces users to choose what is best to buy — Galaxy S10e or iPhone Xr. I think the answer will be obvious…
Design
Let's look at these both phones side-by-side andlet's compare. Let's start with the design. The Samsung Galaxy S10e comes in several colors, just like the iPhone Xr. This means you have plenty to choose from. In terms of size, the Samsung Galaxy S10e is much more compact than the iPhone XR: 5.8-inch screen versus 6.1 inches. You could even say that the S10e is more comparable in size to the more expensive iPhone XS. And at first impression, the S10e looks much more elegant from the front than an Apple smartphone.
If you are worried about the fingerprint scanneron the Korean phone, it's not so difficult to get a finger, because the device has a compact size. I think at this point the choice of users will fall on the Galaxy S10e.
Display
Let's move on to comparing displays, and here there is, ohthan to say. Display panels are very different. The iPhone Xr uses an LCD panel, the S10e — Super AMOLED display. The latter provide maximum contrast with deep blacks, as well as brighter and more expressive colors. Therefore, the budget Galaxy is also in the lead here. Plus it has a higher display resolution — 1080 x 2280 pixels (435 ppi) versus a modest 828 x 1792 pixels (326 ppi). So, another plus in favor of the S10e.
Iron
Both iPhone XR and Galaxy S10e feature the bestchips. The iPhone is powered by Apple's super-fast A12 Bionic, the Galaxy has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. The iPhone has 3GB of RAM, the Galaxy offers two configurations — with 6 GB or 8 GB. Both smartphones work quickly and flawlessly, but according to early reviews, the S10e takes a little longer to cope with tasks. Therefore, here tomatoes can fly into a Korean budget smartphone.
Camera
Budget Galaxy S10e doesn't have a telephoto lensat the back and an additional camera at the front. It can't take photos in Live Focus mode. To fill in some of the gaps, Samsung gives you an ultra-wide-angle lens with a 123-degree field of view. You can take some interesting photos or put your phone in a case and use it as a temporary action camera.
iPhone XR also has some disadvantages incamera. One camera on the front and one on the back. But there is a portrait mode, which works with the help of some software tricks. A more detailed photo comparison will come later. The decision here is up to you. What will you choose — portrait mode or ultra-wide-angle camera?
Total
Both smartphones are certainly verycool, considering that this is a segment of affordable phones. And, most likely, Apple fans will prefer the iPhone Xr, and Samsung fans — Galaxy S10e. But for those who do not have preferences for each of the companies, the choice can be extremely difficult.
Galaxy S10e has excellent performance, flagship filling. And all this in a compact package. The iPhone XR lacks an AMOLED display, 3D Touch, an additional camera, plus there are not very attractive frames from an aesthetic point of view. It feels like Apple has stripped its phone of some significant features in order to lower its price tag. While the Galaxy S10e is a no-compromise, compact flagship at an affordable price.
Recall that in Russia iPhone Xr is sold atthe price is 66,092 rubles. Galaxy S10e costs 56,990 rubles, plus now, on pre-order, you can get a new wireless Galaxy Buds headset as a gift. Start of sales on March 8.
