Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will no longer receive updates

Four years after the announcement of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones, Samsung is no longer producing for them

What is known

The devices have disappeared from the Samsung Mobile Security database. This means that the development of new firmware for smartphones has been stopped.

Both smartphones came out in 2016 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board. Then in 2017, Samsung updated them to Android 7.0 Nougat, and in 2018 to Android 8.0 Oreo. Since then, devices have only received quarterly security updates.
