Samsung Galaxy XCover FieldPro: “indestructible” smartphone with two batteries and “emergency” buttons

Samsung has introduced a new rugged smartphone, the Galaxy XCover FieldPro.

What's special about it?

the smartphone was shown at the conference of the InternationalPolice Chiefs Association. After all, it is intended for people who work in physically difficult, even sometimes extreme, conditions. These are police officers, employees of federal agencies, specialists in transportation, field service, etc.

The device is quite rugged and has MIL-STD-810G1 and IP682 certifications. That is, the smartphone can withstand shocks, falls, maximum temperatures, rain, and even up to 30 minutes under water at a depth of 1.5 meters.

There are separate push-to-talk buttons on the bodyand emergency request, which can help send location data or an alert. They can be activated using gloves and during bad weather. There is also support for 14th band for ad hoc emergency communications.

Another plus is a capacious 4500 mAh battery,which will work without recharging for a whole day. The battery is replaceable, and the kit includes not only a charger, but also another battery, so you don’t have to worry about autonomy.

And finally, Samsung's security platformDefense-grade Knox is CJIS, HIPAA, and FIPS compliant and is certified for use by the federal government in accordance with the standards set by the National Information Assurance Partnership.
