Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab S6: the pros and cons

The Korean company Samsung should soon announce the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Fold. But this hasn't happened yet,

the manufacturer gave us another unexpected surprise — The new Galaxy Tab S6 was released. For some unknown reason, the company skipped the Tab S5 version and immediately announced the Tab S6.

Galaxy Tab S6

The Tab S line from Samsung ishigh-end tablets that come with cutting-edge hardware, plus support for the S Pen stylus. The new Galaxy Tab S6 has several improvements, but it also has one big drawback, which we will discuss below.

Design and display

Not only in smartphones, manufacturers strive tolarge screen with the thinnest frames. The same goes for tablets. The Galaxy Tab S6 also had an ultra-wide display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. This feature has not changed in Tab S6. The tablet has the same 10.5-inch AMOLED display with WQXGA (2560 x 1600) resolution.

However, Samsung has taken steps toreduction of the body. Its bezels are slightly smaller than its predecessor. But what's remarkable is that the Galaxy Tab S6 is extremely thin. It's 5.7mm thin, making it thinner than the ultra-thin iPad Pro (2018). This is another challenge to Apple!

S pen

The S Pen is also compatible with the Galaxy Tab S6, andhe received slight improvements. For example, it now connects via Bluetooth LE and gets all the remote control features of the Galaxy Note 9 — remote shutter for the camera and control media playback with a button. There's a new feature called S Pen Air Actions that will supposedly allow you to control the tablet by gesturing with the stylus over it, no touches required. However, information about this new feature is still scarce.

Of course, to support Bluetooth S Pen you needbattery. On the Note 9, the stylus charges whenever it's connected to the phone. Since the Galaxy Tab S6 doesn't have a slot, the S Pen supports wireless charging — either on a stand or using PowerShare reverse wireless charging.

Galaxy Tab S6 can enter DeX mode withoutneed to use an external monitor. After all, the 10.5-inch screen is large enough to fit comfortably into a desktop interface. The keyboard, which is sold separately, has also been improved - it now has a dedicated DeX key that instantly takes you out of DeX mode, as well as updated keys. In short, the Tab S6 turns into a solid laptop replacement when used in DeX.

Equipment and camera

Of course, the latest version of the tablet from Samsung has received the most modern hardware. The camera also receives an update.

  • Snapdragon 855 processor
  • 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of disk space / 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB
  • microSD card slot for additional memory expansion of 1 TB.
  • main camera with two lenses — 13 MP and 5 MP ultra-wide camera with a viewing angle of 123 degrees.
  • stereo system for speakers — just four speakers with AKG setup will play left and right
  • no headphone jack — this is a minus!
  • built-in fingerprint scanner

release date
