Samsung introduced Q950TS QLED 8K TV - a frameless 8K home TV with AI

Samsung did not wait for the official start of CES 2020, and introduced home modular TVs of the MicroLED series.

The special feature of the line is its frameless design,combined with new generation screens and customization options. New MicroLED models at 88 and 150 inches have lost frames on four sides, allowing users to connect several panels together.

Samsung also promises best-in-classa picture with high resolution and brightness up to 5000 cd/m2. In addition, the TV can scale the image using machine learning, adjusting it to the panel resolution regardless of the source.

The company also showed an 8K TV with artificialintelligence. According to Samsung, the Q950TS QLED 8K TV is the first TV with this resolution, which fits into a thin and “bezel-less” body. Like the previous model, the Q950TS already has 99% of the area occupied by the screen.

The TV is paired with an AI Quantum Processor8K, which helps to scale the image to 8K even if the resolution is much lower. It's still not honest 8K, but the picture will still look better than without upscale.

Adaptive technology will also help improve the picture.Picture, which optimizes display settings depending on the environment to display individual details. The TV also uses the AV1 codec and HDR10+ high dynamic range.

The sound quality will be improved by Symphony, Object Tracking Sound+ (OTS+) and Active Voice Amplifier. According to the company, the technology creates surround and dynamic sound suitable for large TVs.
