Samsung makes a video about the dangers of PWM while the Galaxy S23 burns out the eyes

An unpleasant technological feature of OLED screens is PWM – high-frequency light pulsation,

which is "tiring and is the cause of eye strain and headaches".The quote is taken from a video published by Samsung Display a year ago.In it, Koreans present PWM as a nightmare, urging to protect your eyes fromflickering and offer to switch to devices equipped with Samsung OLED displays, "free fromflickering."

The irony of the situation is that the screens of manySamsung smartphones, including the flagship Galaxy S23, have the worst PWM on the market and flicker more than anyone else. Informant Ice Universe drew attention to the one-year-old video, recalling that the PWM frequency in the Galaxy S23 Ultra is only 240 Hz, while in the iPhone 14 Pro it is twice as good (480 Hz), and in many Chinese flagships it even reaches 2160 Hz (the higher frequency, the weaker the flicker). We talked more about what PWM is and how it differs from DC Dimming in this educational program.
