Samsung has introduced a new SmartThings Find service for finding lost Galaxy devices.
How it works
The system makes it easy to find other gadgetsusing Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Ultra Wideband (UWB) technologies. That is, you can find even a device that is not connected to the Internet.
The search is carried out using other deviceswith SmartThings. After 30 minutes in offline mode, the lost smartphone emits a BLE signal that can be picked up by another gadget. From them, location data will be sent to the Samsung server, and then to the owner. All data is encrypted and securely protected.

After this, a map will appear on the screenwith instructions on how to get to the device. When approaching a point, you can turn on a sound signal or the “Search nearby” function, based on augmented reality: color graphics will appear on the screen, which become brighter as you approach the object.
The service is supported by devices with Android 8 and newer versions of the operating system.
