Samsung will fight Apple for the gamer audience with the help of PlayGalaxy Link

It looks like Samsung is planning to compete with Apple in the smartphone gaming services segment.

What is known

The company has registered a trademarkPlayGalaxy Link, which initially appeared at the US Patent and Trademark Office, and has now reached the European Union Intellectual Property Office. The description says that the product refers to smartphones, downloadable software, and services for online games in augmented and virtual reality.

According to Letsgodigital, Samsung has teamed upwith Hatch, a subsidiary of Rovio, launching a “5G cloud gaming service in Korea.” There’s even a promotion where Galaxy S10 users receive a free three-month Hatch Premium as a gift. It is possible that PlayGalaxy Link is the same service, only with a different name, which was specially changed for the European and American markets.

The source suggests that the worldwide launch of the service will occur along with the release of Samsung’s “gaming smartphone,” which will become part of the A-series.
