According to the new tariff, the driver for one trip willfulfill two orders at once. So far, only a part of clients in Yekaterinburg, Saratov and Yaroslavl can take advantage of this opportunity. It is assumed that there can only be two fellow travelers in the car.
Interestingly, the tariff will not always be available, butonly during periods of high demand. It is then that the probability of finding a fellow traveler is greatest. If the user chooses the “Companion Traveler” tariff, the algorithm will automatically select a companion with the most suitable route for him. The driver will pick up the second passenger along the way.
Yandex calculated that in this way trips would become longer on average by 10 minutes, and passengers would be able to save up to 40% on regular routes.
