Scania has developed a modular electric bus. He transports people during the day and garbage at night.

The NXT modular minibus has zero carbon emissions and can solve several

transport tasks. Its use will help solve two pressing urban problems - traffic jams and air pollution, the company says.

The body of the NXT holds 55 passengers, and a 162 kW⋅h rechargeable battery installed between the bridges provides the electric bus with the opportunity to travel up to 242 km without recharging.

In the future, the bus may become driverless - according toVolvo engineers predict this will happen in 2030. Scania admits that the system relies on technologies that have not yet been developed—in a driverless format, vans will be able to travel no sooner than in 11 years.

Earlier it was reported that the German concern Daimlerwill release on the American highway a convoy of trucks that will communicate with each other at a distance. The company has already conducted the first tests and received permission from the authorities to conduct the experiment. It is assumed that this technique will allow freight transport to dispense with drivers in the future.
