Schoolchildren from the "Great Challenges" program at Sirius University have developed a project for a super-heavy

launch vehicle that will deliver people and cargo to the Moon..

Currently, work is underway all over the world oncreating super-heavy rockets that could take astronauts to the moon and return them. However, this has not yet worked out. Russia plans to begin serious exploration of the Moon by 2030.

During the program at the university, schoolchildren developed a project for a super-heavy rocket, which they defended during the final presentation. 

While working on the project, the students calculated the strength of the missile compartments and found vulnerabilities in the structure of the truss on which the fuel tank and rocket engine are installed.

The next stage will be the production of more detailed drawings and the transfer of the results for verification to specialists in rocketry.

Schoolchildren participating in the Big Challenges have developedproject of a super-heavy launch vehicle weighing more than 3 thousand tons. To do this, they applied knowledge about the design of space technology and calculation algorithms, as well as mastered differential calculus and modern CAD and CAE systems. The guys determined the number of stages, selected suitable materials and fuel components. They also calculated the strength of the elements and the flight path, the mass of the fuel and the payload.
