Scientists added silicon to a quantum computer: calculations became record-breakingly accurate

The Princeton researchers used a two-qubit silicon quantum device.

They achieved the highest accuracy ever recorded for a two-qubit gate in a semiconductor. Also, the efficiency of development is on par with the best similar devices.

Researchers around the world are trying to figure outwhat is best used as a basic unit in quantum computing - superconducting qubits, trapped ions or silicon spin qubits. It is also important that they can be scaled.

The authors of the new work used a silicon device called a double quantum dot. With it, they were able to capture two electrons and make them interact. The spin state of each electron can be used as a qubit.to confuse these qubits.

This operation is very important for quantum computing. The research team was able to perform this operation with an accuracy greater than 99.8%.
