Experts from the University of Washington have created small sensors that can, like seeds
A group of scientists from the University of Washington(USA) developed mini-sensors without batteries. They are similar to dandelion seeds in that they can be easily carried by the wind. Thanks to this technology, it will be possible to distribute such sensors over a large number of territories: to measure temperature, precipitation, humidity, etc.

The tiny devices created are heavier than usualdandelion seed approximately 30 times (the weight of a plant seed is 1 mg). However, they can still move a distance of up to 100 m in moderate winds. Each device contains at least four such sensors, so the devices will be able to exchange information while being at a distance of up to 60 m. Instead of a battery, solar panels are installed in them, and also there are capacitors. Due to this, the sensors will be able to work all night.
A team of researchers is now exploring possible uses for the new devices in the future.
