What is known

Astronomers have spotted a repeatingradio signal from space. It is published by the planet YZ Ceti b. This could mean that it has a magnetic field, and this acts as a shield for the atmosphere, which is necessary for the origin of life.

YZ Ceti b revolves around YZ Ceti's starconstellation Cetus. The radio signal does not match the period of the orbit, but scientists attribute this to the tilt of the magnetic field, if it exists. This affects the repetition period of radio bursts.

YZ Ceti b makes one revolution around its starfor two earth days. This means that it is very close to the star, since it is impossible to make a revolution in 48 hours in a large orbit. At least that's what modern models say.

If the assumptions of scientists are confirmed, the newthe discovery could become the basis for creating new techniques that would help search for planets with magnetic fields. As for YZ Ceti b, due to its proximity to the star, life on an exoplanet cannot exist.
