Experts were able to make this discoverythanks to the eclipse of a star by an asteroid. At the same time, the study analyzed data from observations made by 26 different teams of professional and amateur astronomers.
According to scientists, the moon of the asteroid is locatedapproximately 200 km from the celestial body itself and has a diameter of about 5 km. The official name of the satellite is planned to be given only when astronomers can determine its orbit.
Tentatively, this should happen in 2027 - that's when the Lucy apparatus will approach the asteroid. But there are chances that the discovery will happen earlier. For this, it is enough to take place a new eclipse.
