Scientists have explained the danger of technology unlocking a smartphone in the face

Mobile devices use facial recognition technology to help users quickly and

safely unlock your phones or make payments. But these technologies are highly vulnerable to deepfake attacks, new research has found. Discuss

The researchers found that most APIs that use facial recognition technology do not always detect deepfakes. And app developers often exaggerate their security.

Experts have developed an attack method based ondeepfakes called LiveBugger. They evaluated six of the leading commercial facial verification APIs. Any vulnerabilities in these products could be inherited by other applications that use them, potentially endangering millions of users, the researchers said.

In general, the four most common face verification methods can be easily bypassed. The researchers have already reported this to the developers.
