Scientists studied the correlation between daily insulin dose and cancer incidence among patients with diabetes
The authors of the new scientific work found thatthe incidence of cancer was higher in those who took a large dose of insulin. According to the article, three groups were identified depending on the daily dose of insulin: low (less than 0.5); medium (greater than or equal to 0.5 or less than 0.8); high (greater than or equal to 0.8 units/kg per day). The risk ratios were significantly higher in the high dose group. The incidence of cancer was 2.11, 2.87 and 2.91 per 1000 people in the low, medium and high insulin dose groups, respectively.
The researchers also found that women are at higher risk than men.
