American scientists Gavin Schmidt from NASA and Adam Frank from the University of Rochester discovered a sign that

humanity was not the first civilization on Earth.

Experts shared the results of their researchpublication International Journal of Astrobiology. Thus, scientists believe that a new geological era is coming on the planet, which they have proposed calling the Anthropocene. Its peculiarity is that people interact with both the water, air and stone shells of the Earth. The researchers noted that if before humanity there were other representatives on Earth who achieved identical development – a trace would be recorded. This is exactly what the experts discovered.

The study focuses on describingcharacteristics of the Anthropocene. Thus, according to published data, the new epoch is characterized by modifications in the chemical composition of the mountains, as well as an increase in the average temperature on Earth. In addition, during the Anthropocene, an effect on soil and water is noted. Researchers have found signs that a sharp jump in temperature occurred on the planet 55 million years ago.
