An article was published in the scientific journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, which talks about what

Music evokes emotions. Moreover, the study was conducted not only in the United States, but also in China.

As a result, scientists came to the conclusion, according toto which musical compositions cause a total of only 13 types of different emotional sensations: fun, joy, eroticism, a sense of beauty, relaxation, sadness, daydreaming, triumph, anxiety, insecurity, irritation, rebellion and enthusiasm. Moreover, more general emotions, such as anger, joy, and the like, turned out to be universal, that is, they did not depend on the nationality of the subject, while the assessment of the level of calm or stimulation in different cultures showed themselves differently.

”Music is a universal language, but we are not alwaysWe pay enough attention to what she says and how she is understood. We wanted to take an important first step towards unraveling the mystery of how music can evoke so many shades of emotions, ”the authors of the study summed up.
