Scientists have identified the most infectious period for coronavirus infection

Scientists have determined the most contagious period for coronavirus infection. That is, the period after infection,

when the carrier of the virus poses the greatest danger to others.

A scientific article about this was published inauthoritative journal The Lancet. Scientists analyzed saliva samples from 23 people infected with the new type of coronavirus infection COVID-19 from different hospitals. The age of the patients ranged from 35 to 75 years.

The researchers found that the saliva of these people was most contagious during the first week after the onset of symptoms. Then the infectiousness gradually subsided.

Scientists said this fact could explain why the virus is spreading so quickly. After all, a person is capable of infecting others even before being hospitalized.

Recall that today in the world recorded about 473 thousand cases of infection.
