Scientists have invented the delivery of drugs directly to the brain using nanoparticles

American scientists have developed a new system for delivering drugs directly to the brain. It is based on

nanoparticles. The platform provides three times greater drug accumulation in the brain than other delivery systems.

Indicator briefly describes the work of scientists. It is difficult for doctors to deliver drugs to the brain because of the blood-brain barrier. After traumatic brain injury, it is temporarily disrupted, and then drugs can be used effectively. But sooner or later the blood-brain barrier is restored.

Scientists wanted to create such a delivery systemmedications that would not depend on the state of the blood-brain barrier. Researchers have placed therapeutic agents in biocompatible nanoparticles. These nanoparticles had precisely engineered surface properties that allowed them to transport the therapeutic agent into the brain.

The method was tested on mice, and it showed its effectiveness.
