Scientists made gasoline from gas by-products

In the new work, scientists from Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) used stable gas

Condensates (CGS) are a by-product of natural gas preparation.

In most fields, scientists noted, in the absence of rational use cases, they are mixed with oil to improve its fluidity and facilitate transportation.

The authors decided to use SGC for processing intozeolite, so that it allows you to increase their octane number by an average of 18 points, that is, in fact, obtain AI-80 gasoline in one technological stage.

Scientists also proposed formulations for mixing commercial gasoline grades AI-92, AI-95, AI-98 based on SGK processing products.

We have established the directions of transformationof hydrocarbons that make up the SGC, and also determined the influence of processing parameters on the composition and characteristics of the products obtained. This will allow you to select the optimal parameters for the most efficient use of condensates of various compositions.

The refining process does not require hydrogengas and special preparation of raw materials, which makes it possible to sell it even in low-tonnage performance outside large oil refineries, scientists emphasized.
