At the base of the Kukulcan Pyramid on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico there is an interesting acoustic
Interestingly, this sound is reminiscent ofthe chirping of the quetzal bird, sacred to the Maya. Two physicists carefully examined the recording of this effect, and then digitized the sound from the pop and processed it in such a way as to obtain the effect of reflection from all the steps of the stairs.
That is, the phenomenon is explained by multiplesound reflections from stairs. Each successive stage sends back the same but slightly delayed sound signal. As a result, scientists were able to reproduce the sound on a computer.
