In the near future, humanity will be able to correct “broken” genes. Scientists already know how to “edit”

the human genome, but current technology is slow and costly.

According to the scientist, there is already an understanding of the new technology, which will be more affordable financially. It is called CRISPR-Cas, and its author received the Nobel Prize.

“This is one of the examples of the reduction in the cost of technology, on the other hand, an example of greater accessibility to the society of the possibilities of editing the genome,” Vorontsova said.

In the future, people will be able to make a choice for themselves whether they need it. Everything will be regulated by the relevant legislation. But, according to the expert, when it will be possible, it is difficult to clarify.
