Both devices have been on the planet for 46 Martian days.

The mission of the first extraterrestrial drone Ingenuity,delivered to Mars by the Perseverance rover, is to test the ability of unmanned vehicles to fly in a rarefied atmosphere and use them for reconnaissance and study of hard-to-reach places, such as rocks or depressions.

The drone is not the only interesting device Perseverance brought to Mars. The rover is equipped with microphones.

Currently, laboratory specialistsNASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is modeling the local wind rose based on measurements taken by the MEDA instrument. The time of the first launch of the helicopter depends on these data.
